Two old Victorian townhouses that have been beautifully transformed into a stunning boutique hotel overlooking Bangor’s Marina, Belfast Lough, the Irish Sea, and on to Scotland (on a clear day). A prefect retreat from everyday hustle and bustle. Friendly staff, gorgeous rooms and great food will make your stay a memorable one.

Even more so after the last 12 months which have, without doubt, been amongst the strangest in the long history of this builidng.  The Covid19 pandemic has been a trying time for everyone in hospitality, especially as we had a new Restaurant Manager and a new Head Chef taking up those roles for the first time just as the first cases began to arrive in the UK.  However,  they took it in their stride and worked hard to create a Take Away concept that worked, as well as launch our “Salty Pup” (Click here for more information).

As we know lockdown has now been extended.  Once we have a date to aim for we will be putting all our energies into re-opening (with all the controls and precautions you would expect) still offering the same Salty Dog experience of great dining in a casual atmosphere.  There will be a few extra precautions we would like you to take and if you click through to SaltyDogBangor.com/covid19 you will find out more.

If you have any queries about our procedures or controls please do not hesitate to contact us. Meanwhile we will be busy cooking, creating, serving and looking forward to welcoming you to The Salty Dog.

The gift of The Salty Dog is still available and vouchers can be sent out from the hotel: see www.saltydogbangor/gift-vouchers for details.
