Asyou may have heard The salty Dog Crew took over The Boat House locally.  This has led to a number of vacancies at The Salty Dog ... including a couple at the senior management level.


Head Chef

Head chef position bangorWe are looking for a Head Chef to run the day to day operation of the Salty Dog Kitchen. Reporting to the Executive Chef, who is cooking day to day at The Boat House, this position is seen as key in maintaining The Salty Dog's reputation for family friendly fine dining in a casual atmosphere. 

Whether it is a burger or a 30 day dry aged fillet steak … fish and chips or turbot … a sandwich or a full 7 course tasting menu … we expect the same care and attention to go into every dish.  We need somebody who understands our great local produce and has a passion for preparing it fresh from scratch. The successful head chef must have a passion for the industry and bringing on new chefs and encouraging talent wherever it is found.

The position is ideal for a sous-chef wanting to step up to his first head chef roll or a Head Chef wanting to cook at a better standard than they are currently. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing the seasonal menus, creating tasting menus, developing new dishes with that Salty Dog twist as well as their own budget and of course hygiene and health and safety. Bar Manager

Bar man position bangorThe Bar at The Salty Dog is at the heart of the operation. open from 7.00am-1.00am most days every guest passes through it at some point.  From coffees and teas, to bar snacks and full meals they are all served in the bar area.  

The bar is famous for our cocktails, Northern Irish craft beers and wines by the glass as well as our cocktail and beer events.  We are looking for someone who can help drive the standards as well as the business into the bar. 

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager the Bar Manager is a key part of the management team.  With responsibility for generating revenue and controlling costs whilst offering the best bar experience for our target market.  The bar area at the Salty Dog is dog friendly so an understanding of our 4 legged friends would be useful. Night Porter - Full Time or Part Time

Do you work well on your own?  Do you like responsibility?  Can you take whatever situation arises and do your best for the customer?  This role covers food & beverage as well as reception and housekeeping.  If variety is the spice of life, then this role could be for you.
